Baseball Game Preview: Columbian Tornadoes vs. Liberty-Benton Eagles

The Columbian Tornadoes will face off against the Liberty-Benton Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Columbian: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home dating back to last season, while Liberty-Benton has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road also dating back to last season.

Things were looking good for Columbian after they put the first runs on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Huron, falling 13-4.

Jaxon Little put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs but no hits. Little was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. That run marked the first that he scored this season.

In other batting news, Isaiah Tilse was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing five bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Jamison Woessner also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Meanwhile, Liberty-Benton owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. Everything went their way against Arcadia as they made off with a 7-0 victory. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by seven runs or more this season.

Liberty-Benton's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Columbian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
