Softball Recap: Grand Prairie Comes Up Short

If Grand Prairie was feeling good fresh off their 17-1 takedown of Hillcrest last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Grand Prairie Gophers lost 13-0 to the Richland Royals on Tuesday. The game marked the first time this season in which the Gophers were not able to get on the board.

The defeat snapped Grand Prairie's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-6 record. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing nine hits in those games compared to only 3.29 in the others. As for Richland, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1-2.
