Belle Plaine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 24-13 to the Wellington Crusaders. On the bright side, the 13- run effort marked the Dragons' highest-scoring game to date.

Belle Plaine got a massive performance out of Brooklyn Brines, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Addison Skaggs, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Belle Plaine's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Wellington beat the Dragons by a score of 23-1 later that day.
