Volleyball Recap: Braden River Takes a Loss

Braden River was the 3-1 winner over Lakewood Ranch when they last played one another on September 8th, but their luck changed this time around. The Pirates fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Braden River wouldn't go down easily and took Lakewood Ranch into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 24-26, 22-25, 25-18, 15-12.

Despite the loss, Braden River still got an impressive performance from Rilyn Stiegler, who had 31 digs and two assists. Stiegler has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last eight times she's played.

Braden River's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Lakewood Ranch, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Braden River has already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Parrish Community on the 2nd. As for Lakewood Ranch, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Manatee on the 2nd.
