Baseball Game Preview: Kennedy Titans vs. Mission San Jose Warriors

Kennedy is 9-1 against Mission San Jose since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Titans will be playing at home against the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. Kennedy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Kennedy's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Mission San Jose. The victory continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won eight in a row.

Ethan Kennedy made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Kennedy is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-9 otherwise. Kennedy was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Michael Pickett, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Kennedy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-9 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Nolan Francis, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Kennedy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Kennedy's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Mission San Jose, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
