Softball Recap: Boyertown Comes Up Short

Boyertown and Avon Grove squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Boyertown had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Red Devils by a score of 1-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Bears were not able to get on the board.

Boyertown is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-10. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Avon Grove, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season.

Boyertown does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Avon Grove, they will welcome North Penn at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Red Devils 1.3, the Knights 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
