Volleyball Recap: Conner Falls Short Against Ranked Ryle

Conner faced Ryle in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Cougars took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

Conner started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-20.

Conner's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 26-9. As for Ryle, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-13 record this season.

Conner has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against St. Henry on the 26th. As for Ryle, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Newport Central Catholic on the 26th.
