Basketball Recap: Ada Triumphs

Ada posted their closest victory since February 22, 2024 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged the Sulphur Bulldogs out 52-49. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 327th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Caron Richardson was nothing short of spectacular: he went 8 of 13 en route to 20 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Boyles, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.

Ada smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Ada is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for Sulphur, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Ada wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 65-54 win against Marshall on the 8th. As for Sulphur, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 57-47 victory against Duncan on the 11th.
