Football Recap: Kyaire Harvey and Marques Eli Pace Paulsboro Defense

Paulsboro won the last time they faced Audubon and things went their way on Saturday too. The Red Raiders strolled past the Green Wave with points to spare, taking the game 28-14. Given the Red Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Green Wave are ranked 222nd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Malakhai Mckenzie was the offensive standout of the game as he threw for 177 yards and one TD while completing 87.5% of his passes, and also rushed for 58 yards on only eight carries. What's more, he racked up 141.9 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. A healthy portion of Mckenzie's aerial production (92 yards to be exact) went to Jeremiah Carr.

Paulsboro didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kyaire Harvey and Marques Eli.

Paulsboro has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Paulsboro will challenge Camden Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Audubon, they will take on Bordentown at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
