Recap: Timpson Bears vs. Wolfe City Wolves
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Timpson Bears had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 58-20 victory over Wolfe City. The win was just business as usual for Timpson, who after 12 games remain undefeated this season.
It was another big night for Terry Bussey, who rushed for 212 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also threw for 278 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.9 yards per attempt. Bussey was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 53 yards. Another player making a difference was Amari Bruton, who picked up 225 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Wolfe City's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Carson Herron, who rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns, and Hd Davis who rushed for 148 yards. Davis has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last four times he's played.
Timpson's victory bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Wolfe City, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.
Timpson will square off against Honey Grove at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Honey Grove is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. Wolfe City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
