Soccer Game Preview: Canyon View vs. Carbon

Canyon View is 2-8 against Carbon since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Canyon View will take on Carbon at 4:00 p.m. Canyon View's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Canyon View took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was Canyon View who was credited with the victory. Canyon View got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Manti's three.

Carbon will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Emery on Friday. Carbon never let Emery get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. The result was nothing new for Carbon, who have now won seven matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Carbon's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four contests. As for Canyon View, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Canyon View suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Carbon in their previous meeting on March 7th. Can Canyon View avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
