Baseball Recap: Seven Straight Road Victories for Excel Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Excel Christian). Everything went their way against the Pyramid Lake Lakers on Saturday as the Excel Christian Warriors made off with a 14-2 win. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Lakers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Samuel Mills, who scored three runs and stole Four bases. while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Luc Mandes, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Excel Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pyramid Lake only posted an OBP of .450.

Excel Christian's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.6 runs over those games. As for Pyramid Lake, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Coming up, Excel Christian will welcome Coleville at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pyramid Lake, they will venture away from home to face off against Smith Valley at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
