Softball Preview: Marana Tigers vs. Mica Mountain Thunderbolts
The Marana Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Mica Mountain Thunderbolts at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Tuesday, Marana got themselves on the board against Nogales, but Nogales never followed suit. They were the clear victor by an 18-0 margin over the Apaches. Winning may never get old, but Marana sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Hayden Christensen-Strand tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.
At the plate, Noelani Toeaina was a standout: she scored a run while going 1-for-1. Another player making a difference was Sadie Silverstein, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
