Football Recap: Jefferson-Morgan's Undefeated Season over After Eight Games + How To Watch

After soaring to 37 points the game before, Jefferson-Morgan was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They lost 35-13 to the Bentworth Bearcats. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Rockets, who until this game were averaging 14.13 points allowed.

When it comes to explaining why Jefferson-Morgan lost, don't look at Deakyn Dehoet. Despite the final result, he rushed for 68 yards and one score.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed seven in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of John Woodward, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Ben Hays had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 175 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry for Bentworth. Hays is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 101 every time he's taken the field this season. Bentworth also got a significant boost from Alejandro Leichty, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 89 yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Jefferson-Morgan fell to 7-1. As for Bentworth, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Jefferson-Morgan will face off against Avella at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' defense has only allowed 13.8 points per game this season, so the Rockets' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Bentworth, they will square off against Mapletown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bearcats are facing the Maples at the right time seeing as the Maples are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
