Football Recap: Forrest City Takes a Loss

Forrest City and Elkins squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Forrest City had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Elks and fell 52-14. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas football rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Elks are ranked 24th).

Kevin Young threw for 74 yards and one touchdown on only seven passes.

This is the second loss in a row for Forrest City and nudges their season record down to 5-6. As for Elkins, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Forrest City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Elkins, they will take on Southside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Elks will need to watch out since the Southerners have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
