Basketball Recap: Marcus Stallings Key Part of Team Effort in Rangers Win

Joppa-Maple Grove was handed a 26-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They had just enough and edged the Northside Baptist Christian Lions out 61-58. This was payback for the Rangers, who suffered a 65-34 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Joppa-Maple Grove to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marcus Stallings, who went 6-for-15 en route to 17 points and six boards. Stallings' evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Aiden Messer, who posted 17 points and six rebounds.

Joppa-Maple Grove's record is now 3-23. As for Northside Baptist Christian, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Joppa-Maple Grove will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Crab Orchard at 6:00 p.m. on February 24th. Northside Baptist Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
