Volleyball Recap: Northwestern Extends Winning Streak to Four

Northwestern entered their tilt with Booker T. Washington on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Tornadoes. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 last Tuesday.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Northwestern was: they took every set by at least 14 points. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-11, 25-8.

Leading Northwestern to victory were Saniya Willis and Brooklyn Haynes. Willis had eight aces, while Haynes had three aces and two assists. Those eight aces gave Willis a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Northwestern was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 26 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces in four consecutive matchups.

Northwestern's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Booker T. Washington, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Looking ahead, Northwestern will challenge Dr. Krop at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Booker T. Washington, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Norland on the 29th.
