Recap: Chapin Huskies vs. El Paso Tigers
The Chapin Huskies were the 47-42 winner over the El Paso Tigers when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Chapin received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 44-29 to El Paso.
Chapin's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Samantha Wise, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabrielle Rogers, who scored eight points.
El Paso's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amaris Ambriz, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Emma Guevara, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Chapin's defeat dropped their record down to 12-18. As for El Paso, their victory bumped their record up to 21-9.
Chapin's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Andress at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Andress has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. El Paso's road trip will continue as they head out to face Canutillo at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Canutillo focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
