Baseball Recap: JC Bermudez Doral's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask JC Bermudez Doral). They put the hurt on the Miami Beach Hi-Tides with a sharp 16-4 win on Monday. The victory was nothing new for the Thunder as they're now sitting on six straight.

Noslen Sanchez made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Cristian Sanchez looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

Back at the plate, Daniel Rivaflecha and Brandon Santiso did most of the damage at the plate: Rivaflecha scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5, while Santiso scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. What's more, Santiso posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was JC Leon, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.

JC Bermudez Doral always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .634. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.

JC Bermudez Doral pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Miami Beach, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Coming up, JC Bermudez Doral will square off against Westminster Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Miami Beach, they will challenge Goleman at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
