Softball Recap: Andrews Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Socorro, Andrews was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Pebble Hills Spartans, sneaking past 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted since May 9, 2025.

Andrews got a massive performance out of Marlee Vasquez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave Vasquez a new career-high. Addison Fields was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Andrews lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post two or more home runs.

Andrews is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Pebble Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Andrews will take on Del Valle in a tournament on Friday. Pebble Hills has already played their next matchup (against Tascosa), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
