Softball Recap: Itawamba Agricultural's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Itawamba Agricultural put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let the Smithville Seminoles get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. Considering the Indians have won four contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Abbie Robertson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Adalee Abbott, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Itawamba Agricultural hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most two strikeouts in three consecutive games.

Itawamba Agricultural pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs over those games. As for Smithville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Itawamba Agricultural will be taking part in a tournament against Corinth at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Smithville, they will face off against West Point at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
