Softball Recap: Montevallo Comes Up Short

Montevallo came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Clay-Chalkville Cougars, falling 13-6. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2015.

Montevallo has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. Clay-Chalkville's victory bumped their record up to 7-2-1.

Coming up, Montevallo will take on Dallas County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Clay-Chalkville, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Clay-Chalkville Cougars duke it out with Minor Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. They know how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Minor like a good challenge.
