Baseball Recap: Wilson Christian Academy Has No Trouble Against Southside Christian

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Wilson Christian Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. Everything went their way against the Southside Christian Warriors as they made off with a 15-5 victory. Considering the Chargers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Davis Pittman made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 7.2 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his six plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Austin Coughlin was incredible, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with three RBI and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Ethan Kriger was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

With the win, Wilson Christian Academy broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-11. As for Southside Christian, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-4 record.

Wilson Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 18-0 victory against Scotland Christian Academy on the 28th. As for Southside Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-7 win against New Life Christian Academy on the 28th.
