Basketball Game Preview: Foothill Tech Dragons vs. Villanova Prep Wildcats

The Foothill Tech Dragons will head out on the road to take on the Villanova Prep Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Villanova Prep will be up against a hot Foothill Tech squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. Foothill Tech simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Grace 61-26. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Dragons had established a 31 point advantage.

Meanwhile, Villanova Prep had to endure an 11-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They claimed a resounding 65-35 victory over Laguna Blanca. The Wildcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Villanova Prep's win came from a few key players Foothill Tech will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Neil Del Rosario, who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Levi Burden Hahn, who had 14 points.

Foothill Tech pushed their record up to 9-12 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points per game. As for Villanova Prep, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-9.

Everything went Foothill Tech's way against Villanova Prep in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as Foothill Tech made off with a 48-26 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Foothill Tech since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
