Softball Recap: Southaven Comes Up Short

Southaven was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Grenada. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Southaven of the 12-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2021.

Southaven's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Grenada, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southaven will host Hernando at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hernando will roll in looking for their 17th straight win, something Southaven surely won't give up without a fight. As for Grenada, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Cleveland Central at 7:00 p.m. Grenada's pitchers better be ready for this one: Cleveland Central has averaged an impressive 10 runs per game this season.
