Basketball Recap: Harlingen South Has No Trouble Against Mercedes

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Weslaco East, Harlingen South was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 49-23 margin over the Mercedes Tigers. That looming 49-23 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Hawks yet this season.

Harlingen South's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-11. As for Mercedes, they dropped their record down to 5-10 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Harlingen South will be home for the holidays to greet Edcouch-Elsa at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mercedes, they will head out on the road to take on Donna North at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
