Basketball Game Preview: Seekonk Warriors vs. Greater New Bedford RVT Bears

The Seekonk Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Greater New Bedford RVT Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Seekonk has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Seekonk took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They strolled past Case with points to spare, taking the game 66-52. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Warriors as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

It was another big night for Travis Pereira, who went 6 of 7 en route to 12 points in addition to six boards and five assists. Those 12 points gave him a new career-high. Gavin Pereira was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, Greater New Bedford RVT came up short against New Bedford on Monday and fell 72-63. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 185th, while the Whalers are ranked 26th).

Seekonk's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Greater New Bedford RVT, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Seekonk couldn't quite finish off Greater New Bedford RVT when the teams last played back in January of 2024 and fell 65-63. Can Seekonk avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
