Baseball Recap: Bluffton Victorious

Bluffton won the last time they faced Colleton County and things went their way on Monday too. Bluffton came out on top against Colleton County by a score of 9-5. With that victory, the Bobcats brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Tyler Wolfe made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up five earned runs off six hits. Wolfe was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Bluffton's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bradley Robbins, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Drew Emanuel also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Bluffton now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Colleton County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5-2 record this season.

Bluffton will have a chance to go back-to-back against Colleton County: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
