Softball Recap: Baptist Prep Continues Road Dominance on Thursday

Baptist Prep won the last time they faced Harmony Grove and things went their way on Thursday too. The Eagles blew past the Cardinals 10-4. Considering the Eagles have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Macy Childers was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Highfill, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Olivia Dunn, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Baptist Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive contests.

Baptist Prep's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Harmony Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Baptist Prep will square off against rival Glen Rose at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Harmony Grove is set to challenge their familiar foe Jessieville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
