Game of Inches
Things turned out as expected for Saline last week -- mostly, at least. The team was expected to win big, but the final result was not so decisive. It can thank its lucky stars for its win over Rockford. The final score was a hard-fought 13 - 12. Saline and Rockford were a much more even match than Saline's previous opponent, giving the fans a heck of a game. The one-point margin earned this game the title of 'most exciting' for the week.

It was a battle of top-notch squads when Clarkston (8th in the power rankings) took on Lapeer (12th) last week. Clarkston finished its game with a 13 - 0 win. Nevertheless, it did not have enough punch to impress the power rankings algorithm and slipped one spot in the rankings.
No Stoppin 'Em
The match between Mona Shores and Portage Northern last week put some strain on the scoreboard; in fact, with a total of 86 final points, it was the highest scoring contest in the power rankings for the week. Mona Shores breezed past Portage Northern with a final score of 58 - 28. Despite Mona Shores's win, the team was passed up by other teams in the power rankings and gave up one spot in the rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Belleville (3rd in the power rankings) and Chippewa Valley (1st). The teams have their eyes fixed on the championship after last-week playoff conquests. Chippewa Valley and Belleville can't both win again this week, so we'll learn on Saturday which team falters and which extends its success.
