Lowell is 6-1 against Morgan Township since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Red Devils will host the Cherokees at 10:00 a.m. Neither Lowell nor Morgan Township posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Lowell lost 8-1 to Crown Point on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Red Devils in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost eight in a row.

Lowell saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brett Beardsley, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Morgan Township and Hebron meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Cherokees fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 3-2.

Morgan Township also got a good showing from Carter Thibodeau, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Thibodeau has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cal Lemmons was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Morgan Township dropped their record down to 3-12-1 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Lowell, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

Lowell skirted past Morgan Township 5-4 in their previous meeting back in May of 2023. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Cherokees have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
