Recap: Carmel Christian Cougars vs. Cary Academy Chargers
The Carmel Christian Cougars entered their tilt with the Cary Academy Chargers with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Carmel Christian blew past Cary Academy 62-39. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Carmel Christian also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Carmel Christian's win on Saturday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kam Taylor, who scored 20 points along with 7 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Taylor has scored at least 25% of Carmel Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Slay, who scored 23 points.
Carmel Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. As for Cary Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carmel Christian will take on Covenant Day at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Covenant Day focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Saturday. As for Cary Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Wesleyan Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m.
