Baseball Recap: Tri-County Drops Highest Score of Season Against South Newton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tri-County). They put the hurt on the South Newton Rebels with a sharp 17-0 victory on Tuesday. The Cavaliers' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three matches.

The team relied heavily on Tyler Burns, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Arvin, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Tri-County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Tri-County's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for South Newton, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Tri-County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Rebels: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
