Football Recap: Firebaugh Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Firebaugh was feeling good fresh off their 35-0 takedown of Avenal last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The game between the Eagles and the Dos Palos Broncos didn't end well, with the Eagles falling 31-14. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Eagles, who until this contest were averaging 14.89 points allowed.

Leonardo Perez threw for 78 yards and one TD. Dominic Barajas was his top target, picking up 63 receiving yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Ryan Luna rushed for 54 yards.

Andre Flores was his usual excellent self, rushing for 172 yards and a pair of scores for Dos Palos. Flores also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Broncos are undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise. Jesus Bon also helped out with an impressive 89 receiving yards.

Firebaugh's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Dos Palos, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Firebaugh wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 35-14 victory against Mendota on the 31st. As for Dos Palos, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 35-13 defeat against Coalinga on the 30th.
