Flag Football Game Preview: California Grizzlies vs. Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles + How To Watch

The California Grizzlies will face off against the Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with California sitting on three straight victories and Clayton Valley Charter on 15.

California is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 19-6 win over College Park. Given the Grizzlies' advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Falcons are ranked 124th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Caeli AuYeung was the offensive standout of the game as she rushed for 67 yards and two scores, and also threw for 131 yards on 15 of 22 attempts. Those two rushing touchdowns gave her a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Clayton Valley Charter's rock-solid defense showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They blew past James Logan, posting a 27-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Ugly Eagles, who have now won 12 matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.

Clayton Valley Charter's win bumped their record up to 19-3. As for California, their victory bumped their record up to 16-3.

California strolled past Clayton Valley Charter when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 21-7. Will the Grizzlies repeat their success, or do the Ugly Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
