Softball Recap: Crystal City Javelinas vs. Natalia Mustangs
Crystal City hadn't done well against Natalia recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Javelinas walked away with an 8-4 win over the Mustangs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Javelinas.
Makaela Miramontes was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off 11 hits (and only one walk). Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Crystal City let Anayeli Luna and Aubrey Villareal run wild. Luna went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Villareal scored two runs while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs Villareal has posted since back in March of 2024. Ameerah Ibarra also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
