Basketball Game Preview: Troy Trojans vs. Whitney Wildcats

Troy and Whitney are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Troy Trojans will square off against the Whitney Wildcats at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Troy and nine for Whitney.

On Tuesday, Troy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 33-27 to Clifton.

Meanwhile, Whitney had to suffer through a 53-19 loss at the hands of Clifton. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1343rd, while the Cubs are ranked 622nd).

Troy's defeat dropped their record down to 13-15. As for Whitney, their loss dropped their record down to 3-19.

Troy strolled past Whitney in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a score of 50-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Troy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
