Basketball Game Preview: Cascade Ramblers vs. Salmon River Savages

Cascade hasn't had much luck against Salmon River recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Cascade Ramblers will challenge the Salmon River Savages at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cascade is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Greenleaf Friends Academy, posting a 61-5 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Meanwhile, Salmon River didn't have too much trouble with Highland last Friday as they won 48-34. The Savages pushed the score to 42-22 by the end of the third, a deficit the Huskies cut but never quite recovered from.

Salmon River's win came from a few key players Cascade will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Rylee Walters, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. Walters is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Taylor Ewing, who went 5 of 12 to rack up 12 points and five steals.

Salmon River has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.9 points over those games. As for Cascade, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Cascade lost to Salmon River on the road by a decisive 48-34 margin when the teams last played back in January. Can Cascade avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
