Lincoln hasn't had much luck against Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Mustangs will be playing at home against the Fightin' Irish at 3:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Lincoln extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over Balboa. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by exactly ten runs.

Lincoln let Jerry Hou and Nicholas Chiu run wild. Hou scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Chiu scored two runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those five stolen bases gave Chiu a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kai Beckham, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.
Lincoln was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory came into Monday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 10-7 victory over Menlo-Atherton on Monday. Considering the Fightin' Irish's hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
PJ Vigo looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory is 5-1 when Vigo allows one or fewer hits, but 4-9 otherwise.
At the plate, Johnny Nepomuceno and Evan Liu did most of the damage at the plate: Nepomuceno scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Liu scored a run while going 3-for-4. Quinn Middleton was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Lincoln's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10.
Lincoln's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's matchup. The Mustangs have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, though, as they've been averaging only 0.9 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Lincoln continue to outrun the ball?
Lincoln couldn't quite finish off Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 and fell 7-5. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
