Volleyball Recap: LaFayette Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, LaFayette couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 3-1 to the Academy of Richmond County Musketeers on Wednesday. The Ramblers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Musketeers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2021.

Makenna Clarke paced LaFayette's offense, picking up 15 kills. Clarke got some help from Jaslyn Capello and her 34 assists. Clarke was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Berkeley Jones was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 18 digs and three assists. That's the most digs she has posted over her last seven matches.

LaFayette's defeat dropped their record down to 36-11. As for Academy of Richmond County, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 35-3.

LaFayette does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Academy of Richmond County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Cherokee Bluff on the 25th.
