Basketball Game Preview: Escalante Lobos vs. Navajo Pine Warriors

The Escalante Lobos and the Navajo Pine Warriors will round out the year against one another at at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with ten consecutive losses dating back to last season for Escalante and three for Navajo Pine.

Last Saturday, Escalante ended up a good deal behind Cuba and lost 56-38.

Meanwhile, Navajo Pine had to suffer through a 55-26 loss at the hands of Hot Springs.

Escalante will need focus on slowing down Mikayla Baker, one of several Navajo Pine players who made an impact when they last played. She made all 5 shots she took to post 11 points. Another player making a difference was Kylea Jumbo, who posted nine points.

Navajo Pine's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Escalante, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Everything came up roses for Escalante against Navajo Pine when the teams last played back in December of 2023, as the squad secured a 70-15 victory. Does Escalante have another victory up their sleeve, or will Navajo Pine turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
