Recap: Mooresville Pioneers vs. Lebanon Tigers
Even though the Lebanon Tigers scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, the Mooresville Pioneers still came out on top. Mooresville took their match against Lebanon 62-55. With that win, Mooresville brought their scoring average up to 50.5 points per game.
Leading Mooresville to victory were Aj Defur and Bradley Robbins jr. Defur scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Robbins jr scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Wilkinson Elma, who scored 12 points.
Despite the loss, Lebanon still got an impressive performance from Kaden Lark, who scored 25 points along with five assists and five steals. Lark scored a full 45.5% of Lebanon's points, the tenth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jack Ferrell was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds.
Mooresville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season. As for Lebanon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mooresville is on the road again on Friday and play against Franklin Community at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Franklin Community is on a three-game streak of home wins, Mooresville a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Lebanon, they will head out on the road to face off against Frankfort at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Frankfort is ranked 221st, while Lebanon is ranked 223rd).
