Soccer Game Preview: Atkins vs. Oak Grove

For the first time this season, Atkins will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Oak Grove Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Atkins and three for Oak Grove.

Atkins fell victim to Forbush and their airtight defense on Thursday. They lost 7-0 to the Falcons. Luke Archambault was hit with a yellow card, which may have had some impact on his (and the team's) ability to make aggressive plays.

Meanwhile, Oak Grove didn't have quite enough to beat East Forsyth on Wednesday and fell 3-2.

Samuel Zarate and Grayson Messer scored both of the Grizzlies' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

Oak Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9-2. As for Atkins, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Atkins beat Oak Grove 4-2 in their previous matchup back in September of 2019. Do the Camels have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Grizzlies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
