Basketball Recap: Franklin Community Falls Despite Big Games from Ella Mccrary and Addi Bright

Franklin Community was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Jennings County Panthers, falling 58-35. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Grizzly Cubs of the 51-44 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Despite the defeat, Franklin Community had strong showings from Addi Bright, who posted nine points, and Ella Mccrary, who put up eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Doty, who had five points.

Franklin Community's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Jennings County, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Franklin Community will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mooresville at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. As for Jennings County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 58-45 loss against Carmel on the 28th.
