Baseball Game Preview: Marshall Lions vs. Paris Tigers

The Marshall Lions will head out to face off against the Paris Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Marshall has three straight wins, Paris has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Marshall proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 13) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Robinson 4-3.

The team relied heavily on Liam Keim, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Keim wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Marshall lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Paris faced off against Riverton Parke on Wednesday. The Tigers lost 12-6 to the Panthers. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Paris now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Marshall, their record is now 5-2.

Marshall beat Paris 8-5 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
