Volleyball Recap: Shawnee Mission Northwest Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Shawnee Mission Northwest was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Wyandotte on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars fell 3-1 to the Lansing Lions on Tuesday. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Lansing scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-23, 23-25, 25-21.

Bo Bronson paced Shawnee Mission Northwest's offense, picking up 18 kills. Bronson got some help from Lilli Weber and her 38 assists. Bronson also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Madie Bishop, racking up three apiece.

Shawnee Mission Northwest's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Lansing, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Shawnee Mission Northwest will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Blue Valley Southwest at 7:00 p.m. As for Lansing, they will take on Park Hill South at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
