Baseball Game Preview: Frankfort Panthers vs. Henry Clay Blue Devils

The Frankfort Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Henry Clay Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Frankfort lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Mason County, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's contest. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Royals on Thursday.

Jonathan Smith was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That RBI was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Henry Clay waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Defenders get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. That 11 run margin sets a new team best for the Blue Devils this season.

Frankfort has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Henry Clay, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.

Frankfort couldn't quite get it done against Henry Clay in their previous meeting back in May of 2021 as they fell 4-1. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
