Basketball Recap: Liberty County Takes a Loss

Liberty County suffered their closest defeat since December 28, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of the Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets by a score of 38-36. The Panthers just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Jaden Crews was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards for Thomas County Central. Crews' afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Nia Hayes was another key player, putting up seven points.

Liberty County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Thomas County Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Liberty County Panthers face off against the Bradwell Institute Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Thomas County Central and Lincoln will round out the year against one another at at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. Lincoln has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
