Softball Recap: Zane Trace Comes Up Short at Home Against Eastern

Zane Trace unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 16-5 to the Eastern Warriors on Monday.

Haylynn Boggess-Pierce made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Laynie Scott was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

The win (which was Eastern's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Zane Trace has already played their next match, a 7-2 defeat against Chillicothe on the 25th. As for Eastern, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 9-0 loss against Hillsboro on the 25th.
