Basketball Recap: Tristin Bird's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Caprock Academy over Lotus School for Excellence

The Caprock Academy Eagles came up short against the Lotus School For Excellence Meteors on Friday, falling 57-36. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Caprock Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tristin Bird, who posted seven points along with seven boards and five assists. Bird is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Zach Jordan, who earned eight points.

Surafel Lemma continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lotus School For Excellence, going 6 of 12 en route to 12 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Yai Ayany was another key player, going 5 for 6 on his way to 10 points and five boards.

Caprock Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Lotus School For Excellence, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3.

Caprock Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 61-52 defeat against De Beque on the 29th.
